It is with great pride that I announce the celebration of my 35 years in real estate in 2022!
I didn't have a party or an event to commemorate. This message is my way of letting my family, friends, fans and followers know that I appreciate your loyalty to me and my real estate practice. Without you I would have no business; you complete my mission of helping sellers and buyers discover options so they can make informed decisions. I don't just sell houses; I am the catalyst that can change a life. A real advocate and trusted advisor.
These 35 years in real estate went by fast as I started 8 months after the birth of my first daughter in June 1987. It was the flexible time commitment that seemed to work. I was not aware of the complexities and nuances ahead and what I was about to learn.
During the first 19 years Coldwell Banker was my home. Many lessons learned, many people met and there was a joy of accomplishment and reward. Then, it was time for a change.
The next 7 years were a roller coaster ride of finding a fit that was right for me. (My LinkedIn profile has the breakdown: Keller Williams, HomeQuest, Judy Johnson, William Raveis). A lot happened from 2006 to 2013 and needless to say I learned the ropes and started to perfect my practice. Mistakes were made but to my advantage an awareness was evolving. Failing forward!
Business development was my focus during those 7 years, and it resulted in opening a brokerage with 2 partners in 2013 called Cafe Realty. It was like giving birth and everything leading up to the launch was arranged as strategically as possible. This lasted until 2021, a great 8-year run. Pandemic times dictated the need for a tactical move. An opportunity existed to bring The Cafe Residential Team to McGrath Realty Inc. I am Team Leader once again developing talent and carrying out our mission.
Throughout my 35 years I have incubated, coached, mentored, advised, and consulted with 100s of clients, agents and industry leaders. I consider myself an expert and master at what I do. I have put in the work and persevered with grit and resilience in an industry that can be a life disrupter...if you let it.
Real estate is not easy as I have often overheard many say. This is because the general public does not fully understand. This business is complex, it involves constant education and staying up to date with trends and technology. It is an exercise in psychology and behavioral science. It is a people business involving the largest asset of a family’s lifetime…a real estate sale or purchase. It is managing expectations and the American dream. None of these things are to be taken lightly.
So what's next after such a long and illustrious career? The possibilities are endless due to the experience I have gained! My focus is on mindset, mission and message through content development and marketing for real estate agents and small business owners. I will retain my real estate license to be sure that you, my family and friends, receive the world class service anywhere you may go.
Thank you!
